Increase Productivity : Quick MS Word Tips

Apply these simple tips while working with MS Word and increase productivity. It is worth reading. It will hardly take you 10 minutes.

  1. Ctrl+ makes a word subscript (e.g.: H2O) and Ctrl Shift + makes a word superscript (e.g.:1st)
  2. Ctrl + Shift + > key combinations will increase the selected text where Ctrl + Shift + < combination will decrease the selected text.
  3. To select an entire paragraph, make three rapid clicks anywhere in the paragraph
  4. Ctrl + click selects sentence. 
  5. To create a horizontal line type 3 hyphens (---) and then press Enter
  6. To quickly create a table, type a plus sign (+) then press the Tab key, again type a plus, and again press the Tab key. Do this as many times as the number of cells you want in your table. Then press Enter. And table shall appear!
  7. Ctrl + Enter creates new page
  8. Put your cursor to the left of the text and press the Ctrl + Up Arrow/Down key. It will select all bullet points or If you select any of the bullet points, it will select all bullet points.
  9. Typing =rand() and then pressing Enter will automatically generate random
  10. Typing =rand(2,3) and then pressing Enter will automatically generate random 2 paragraphs with 3 lines
  11. Typing =rand.old() and then pressing Enter will automatically generate a random paragraph as “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”
  12. Typing =lorem() and then pressing Enter will automatically generate a random paragraph as “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”
